2/19/2014 Sealer/color 1 TSP sugar, 1 TSP pine resin in can. Heat slowly until it smokes and bubbles up. Cool. Add de-natured alcohol to dissolve and separate from the ash/carbon. Strain. You now have color. Add some (how much???) resin, maybe canada balsam or pine resin. Add enough alcohol to get a thin liquid. Apply this to the bare wood. Two coats. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Ground Plaster (de-heated) with casein. Rub in with cork, adding more plaster powder and rub. Wipe off excess. I don't remember if I repeated this. I don't think so. When dry, smooth with sandpaper. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Yellow/gold color Use the thinned yellow gold Transtint. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Ernie Martel's varnish. It is very thick. Rub with cork, thumb, or whatever. The red nano-oxide works with this. This varnish takes weeks/months to dry. Maybe never. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
